To Get the Job, you have to get the audition, To Get the audition, You have to be called in by a casting director, To get the casting director to call you in, You need a casting director to champion your work, To get a casting director to champion your work, You need an agent to constantly remind them that you're alive by calling, cajoling, impressing them with your talent, buying them lattes (this is what managers do) Hopefully, your agent and/or a manager has clients who have booked big shit for that casting director...the kinds of roles that casting directors are still making checks from
_(yes, casting directors get residual checks just like actors every time a show they have cast airs...so they need the job, just like you need the job....)_ So casting directors pick up the phone and listen to agents/managers who send them actors who consistently audition well and book roles. Who is your agent/manager? Do they have a lot of series regulars or working actors in TV/Film (they don't have to be stars, just working actors) If not, you need an agent or manager who has enough to clout to fight for you and willing to go to bat for you on the regular. **An agent/manager who loves your dirty drawers and will talk a casting director's ear off singing your praises, your reviews, how you embody the soul of the character, who believes in your without question and has total faith in your talent.** **How do you make that happen? because if it's going to happen, it's up to you put the plan in place...** Comments are closed.
