Whatâs your emotional type?
What triggers your deepest emotions & why?
That trigger is the key to learning one of ur 4 major emotional chords which are ur #SoulSong, ur unique life purpose.
1. Think of a painting, play, movie, book (any artform that tells a story) that stopped u dead in your tracks.
2. Identify that emotion, look at the story & write down how it made you feel & why?
3. Research the details, history of the story & write down the source of those feelings.
Here's an example:
Harmony Roslaes' painting of Iyawo triggered something deep for me & i started writing w/out thinking. It triggered one of my emotional chords.
Hereâs what I learned Iâm willing to fight for:
â White Latinos running around talking abt there ainât no racism in latin america & the carribbean need to STFU w/that white supremacy bullshit. #YoSoyAfroCubana
u donât to tell me how to identify who I am after my ancestors were dragged from Dahomey, picked ur tobacco & were never paid, but enslaved, made the country rich, fought the revolution & are still economically disenfranchised as u forbid ur children to marry dark & have el blanqueamiento on the books as a national policy
u donât need to whiten a country unless itâs already black like Cuba was
who picked up the machete, came down outta the mountains & helped put the Spanish out of Cuba: enslaved Afro Cubans & now you want to dissappear my blackness...ur worse than los norteamericanos who at least acknowledge racism, u dissappear an entire race of people who founded the island, whose gods you still worship & whose black abuelas are hidden in the kitchen when guests come by
how dare u..." ⢠⢠â¢
What's the chord?
Can you identify it.
