![]() ACTOR PROBLEMS
I've been doing some very exciting discovery sessions with new clients and learning about the same struggles: how to get movement in your acting career and start doing the kind of work that expresses the deepest parts of your SoulsSong.
SOLUTIONS Instead of the being the victim of the industry and accepting whatever it throws your way, why aren't you setting goals for yourself? Goals that you can strategically map out and pursue? Goals that are completely within your control and are measurable? Goals that get you closer to the kind of career you've been dreaming about? For example, when I graduated from Rutgers with an MFA, I had decided that I wanted to really master the craft of acting by playing the major classical ladies. I believed the scope of classical tragedy housed some of my major emotional chords: the woman in search of justice in a world that promises her none. I researched Shakespeare companies, decided who I wanted to play and began working on those roles. I let my agents know my desires and had them focus on getting me seen by my hit list of companies. I visited opening nights at those theaters and introduced myself to the Artistic Directors. So, when the auditions arrived, I was more than ready. ACTOR STRATEGY There were a lot of little steps that led to my ultimate targeting strategy and that's something I want to teach you more about in the coming weeks. I'll be releasing a video blog every 3 days for the next two weeks culminating in a FREE class on Saturday, September 24th. If you'd like to register, click here now. To that end, I'll be teaching a 12 Week What's Your Emotional Type and how can it double your auditions course in the fall. In preparation for that class, I'll be dropping some really cool video blogs and a free class. Watch the video and if you feel like this is something you want to learn more about, sign up here
